Yi Yi

Yi Yi is a meditative portrait of a middle-class family in Taipei as their lives subtly shift over the course of a year, from a wedding’s promise to the finality of a funeral. Edward Yang’s measured direction weaves a mosaic of everyday moments with rare emotional precision, centering on NJ’s quiet struggles and his son Yang-Yang’s search for meaning through photography.
